SHEATH KNIFE MAKING COURSES

Next courses: 29.8. – 1.9.2024

You don’t have to be born a blacksmith to be able to make your own knife. Come and learn knife making with an experienced blacksmith. Enjoy four days of the magic of creation and craft your very own knife. The work stages consist of blade forging and heat treating, handle forming with all its fittings and making the sheath, including making your own pitch thread. The course is suitable for both beginners and more experienced hobbyists.

Normally participants will make at least one knife, but some might manage even two. It is possible to continue working also in the evenings. The Gallery of the workshop will act as resting place, with the possibility to make tea and coffee. All course participants will have to bring their own working clothes and it would also be good to have your own earmuffs.

It is possible to enjoy a self-paid lunch at the village restaurant Niinipuu locaterd next door. On Sundays, Niinipuu offers Sunday buffee. See more: www.okkola.fi
